Penguatan Sikap Beragama Pada Umat Buddha Maitreya Di Kampung Penyengat Kabupaten Siak Provinsi Riau

Abstract

Enhancing religious perspectives in human existence is crucial as it encourages individuals to foster unity and a profound sense of tolerance. This responsibility is a collective endeavor required of everyone in society, regardless of their location. To ensure that their roles in promoting peaceful religious perspectives are fulfilled, both individuals and groups in a community must possess compassion and a self-awareness that connects them as believers in God, fostering appreciation for others. Personal attitudes and character significantly impact the reinforcement of religious convictions, with robust belief and dedication to religious teachings embodying true religious commitment. This research aimed to explore the initiatives taken to bolster the religious attitudes of Buddhists in Penyengat Village. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach, which focuses on examining the conditions of natural objects. The participants included Buddhist leaders and local community figures from Penyengat Village. Data assessment utilized an interactive framework involving data reduction, presentation, and conclusion formulation or verification. Findings revealed that the Maitreya Buddhist community in Penyengat Village, Siak Regency, has effectively strengthened religious attitudes, as demonstrated in the everyday practices of Maitreya Buddhists within the village. An accurate religious perspective enables every community to embody strong ethical principles; this is evident in Penyengat Village, where residents actively engage with the teachings of Maitreya Buddhism through regular attendance at worship services and participation in beneficial initiatives at the temple, remaining active and involved in various positive projects at their place of worship or monastery
